grzegorz wnęk
grzegorz is a colleague of mine from cracow. we got to know each other during my studies in poland in 2005. born in frysztak in 1974 he studied at the asp cracow from 1994-1999 in the class of prof. rodziński and is now taking care of the first-year students' drawing class. he is also co-founder of the group "kontrapost". grzegorz already had many solo and group exhibitions (also with wilhelm sasnal in former years) and last year he won the "young poland"-scholarship which also enabled him to make a nice catalogue of his work. his always realistic and mostly figurative paintings can be divided in different series, having been becoming more photo-realistic in the last two years. they can be found in many private collections but in museums as well e. g. the frissiras museum in athens. he is working like a madman, tearing down one huge format after the next. you can see some of his paintings here.

julian turner
on the web i got to know julian turner, a young artist studying at the academy in vienna. i like his photographic work very much. the pictures are always well composed and in their different atmospheres they are very intense and on point. Browse through his flickr photostream to find great pictures ranging from urban scenes to ironic statements. hope we will meet in real life soon.
